Lee Ritchey
Lee Ritchey is an electrical engineer who spent his career in Silicon Valley along with thousands of other engineers. He grew up in Northern California among several families of Italian wine makers before California wines were "discovered."
"Wine was just part of their daily life and they shared that with me when I visited. I found it interesting how they made the wine and used it as part of their menus. During the Silicon Valley days, we had wine with many business dinners, allowing me to taste the finer wines being made in California.
"One day my son Jeff declared he was going to become a winemaker and I found myself with an in to the business. It didn't take much prodding to get me into the business, as well, since I liked fine wines and wanted to participate in making them. It has turned out to be a great diversion from high technology."
John Zasio
John Zasio is an Electrical Engineer who started his career in New York at IBM and then moved to Silicon Valley. He has been either the founder or part of the founding team in seven high technology startups. John continues to work primarily as a teacher to young engineers.
John grew up in an Italian family in Ohio. At the age of three he participated in his first crush and has enjoyed the art of wine making ever since.
Thirty-five years ago John had the good fortune to join Lee in a startup and they became very good friends. The opportunity to join Jeff and Lee in the art of making fine wines is something he could not pass up.
